FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q1. Do all MIPExperience packages include drinks and food?
A1. Yes. All food and drinks, in all of the resort restaurants and bars, located in the hotel(s) are part of the El Cid Resort is free. However, the golf club house and room service are not included in your package, so any order from either will be charged to you. Tips are optional in all cases.
Q2. Are there any extra costs that I should be aware of?
A2. None that relate to the hotel and Pickleball vacay & play experience. However, any activities undertaken outside of your package (see reference to El Cid all inclusive packages) including optional tours and or airport transportation are NOT INCLUDED.
Q3. Are flights and/or airport transportation transfers included?
A3. No. Flight and transportation to/from the airport are not included.
Q4. What time is check in at the hotel on day of arrival?
Q5. Can I upgrade my room after arrival at the hotel?
A5. Yes, but subject to availability. Please see a MIPE customer service representative upon arrival.
Q6. Is Single Occupancy available?
A6. Not at this time, but please check the MIPExperience Packages page for any updates.
Q7. Do I have to sign up and pay as a MIPExperience guest before I can enter the Mexico International Challenge Cup “MICC”?
A7. Yes. You will be given a registration code and instructions upon booking your MIPExerience Package.
Q8. Who are the people and/or organizations behind MIPExperience & MICC?
A8. Selkirk Sport and the El Cid Hotel Resorts are our major brand & commercial partners, while our organizational team is made up of well known and highly regarded individuals in the world of pickleball and event production, marketing and delivery. Q9. What is your Deposit, Full payment, and Refund policy?
A9. A minimum deposit of $500 USD is required, to reserve your spot at the “MIPExperience”, with full payment due no later than 60 days after your initial registration, up until December 31st whichever is the sooner. If the full payment is not received within the relevant timeframes, your registration to the “MIPExperience” will be cancelled and you will receive a 50% refund of your deposit.
In any event, there will be no refunds on deposits after December 31st, 2023.
Should the event be cancelled or rescheduled a full refund will be offered.
Q10. Are early bird discounts available?
A10. Yes, for a limited time. To qualify for the early bird package rates, full payment must be received within 60 days after your registration, or no later than October 31st 2023, whichever is the sooner. Please review our MIPExperience Packages page for current pricing and details.
Q11. How secure are my credit card details?
A11. We use encrypted technology that guarantees your payment process is secure and fully protected.
Q12. If I book my ticket online, how do I collect my ticket?
A12. Your e-reservation is confirmed by email sent to you upon payment and booking, with a confirmation code that guarantees your reservation.
Q13. Where can I review my reservation information?
A13. You will receive a confirmation email, with your booking reference number, as well as a link to access your reservation information.
Q14. Can I register and buy a ticket at the event?
A14. No. Booking can only be made in advance via our website and subject to availability.
Q15. I can’t pay by credit card; is there an alternate payment method?
A15. Yes, there are alternative payment methods. Please click the BOOK NOW button and proceed to checkout for all payment options.
Q16. I have special accessibility needs/dietary requirements; can you accommodate me?
A16. Yes, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and give specific details and be sure to include your reservation code.
Q17. Where can I find information about the event agenda and schedule?
A17. Please visit the MIPExperience page to see a quick view of the daily scheduled events.
Q18. Does the resort have all dedicated Pickleball courts?
A18. No. The courts are a mix of converted tennis courts and dedicated Pickleball courts.
Q19. Does the event have insurance?
A19. The El Cid Resort has personal liability insurance for all of its guests, while on the premises. However, we advise each MIPExperience guest to purchase their own travel & medical insurance. In addition, we will ask each player to sign a waiver form.
Q20. Is a deposit required?
A20. Yes, you will have the option to pay a deposit and hold your reservation for a limited time. Please refer to MIPE Packages page and proceed to checkout for details.
Q21. Do I need a passport to travel to Mexico?
A21. Yes, you will need a current passport with a minimum validity of six months prior to expiration at the time of travel.
